More Teasing

Give me strength. “You should stop smelling me all the time. It’s too frigging creepy.”

The air in the room changed. It was thicker and electrically charged, caressing and teasing at the same time. Nothing else existed in the world but the three of us. I looked up into his eyes. They glowed slightly. He leaned down and kissed my forehead, then a chaste kiss on my lips.

The wall was infinite, stretching out in all directions, but I only had to worry about one small part. It was not made of bricks or stone, but of billions of threads. Some thought it was the Fates tapestry, some the last bit of physical material a soul leaves behind when they cross over. Whoever was responsible for its construction, the wall was responsible for keeping the living and the dead separate.
