Just a Nibble

I gave him my most sceptical look, but he still made eye contact without looking away. “I can sympathize. Why don’t you go freshen up before supper? You kind of stink.”
“Well you’re kind of a bitch.”
“True, but that isn’t likely to change before supper, however if you use a little soap and water I’ll be able to enjoy my meal without having to block out your stench.”

Another quote from my book Blood and Loss

Farming my Thoughts

Most authors have a day job. I am no exception. My day job involves creating as well. I own a hobby farm. So today instead of writing the next volume of my series or tweeting the day away, I will be wrist deep in ground, weeds and seeds. My two passions fit together perfectly. When I am working outside my mind is allowed to wander to wherever my imagination can take it. I have solved my most stubborn narrative problems in the garden. So I write in my head and when I do come in and need a rest my trusty computer is waiting for me to download everything I came up with while I was outside.
So today I will plant some carrots and weed my strawberries. Who knows what might come to my wicked mind.

I have to do What?

I hope I don't sound like a whiner when I write this post. I am not complaining. I have loved every part of writing and publishing my book. I just thought that would be the hard part. I didn't think the marketing would be so much work. Don't get me wrong, I have loved meeting new people (even if the meeting has been electronically only), but the volume of things I could be doing stacks up. This pile is so high I feel like the things I am doing is standing in its shadow. The good thing is I have felt this way before. Anything you want to accomplish as badly as I want to accomplish selling my book is worth every bit of hard work. Eventually what I thought was overwhelming, I will get used to and wonder why I found it so hard in the first place. I will learn the tricks of marketing my book like the back of my hand and it will be one more skill set I have learned in life.
I hope I can help others the way some authors have already helped me. So I am going to choose to enjoy myself. This is new and exciting. I have done something I always secretly thought would be on my to do list and never checked off. I have published my novel and everything else is gravy.
Hope you are enjoying my blog. Please read my other posts and send me any questions or comments. I'd love to hear from you.

More Teasing

Give me strength. “You should stop smelling me all the time. It’s too frigging creepy.”

The air in the room changed. It was thicker and electrically charged, caressing and teasing at the same time. Nothing else existed in the world but the three of us. I looked up into his eyes. They glowed slightly. He leaned down and kissed my forehead, then a chaste kiss on my lips.

The wall was infinite, stretching out in all directions, but I only had to worry about one small part. It was not made of bricks or stone, but of billions of threads. Some thought it was the Fates tapestry, some the last bit of physical material a soul leaves behind when they cross over. Whoever was responsible for its construction, the wall was responsible for keeping the living and the dead separate.

5 Star Review

This is just one of the 5 star reviews Blood and Loss has received.

Amazon Verified Purchase
I found myself with some "precious me time". I opted to read a book over watching TV alone. So I searched amazon.com for a new book to download on my PC kindle. I poured myself a glass of wine and escaped in Cassandra's Myles world for a few hours. I don't want to give away the plot but these are some of the things you should know about the book . It takes place in Canada, beautiful Nova Scotia, Vancouver and Alberta are mentioned in the book. The story includes witches, vampires and more .... the book gets better with every chapter and leaves you wanting more at the end. Oh and how could I forget, it is actually funny, the author could have you wanting to cry one minute and laughing out loud the next. I am eagerly awaiting for Electa Graham to release the next book in the Casandra Myles Witch Series.

I'm Such a Tease

Here are just a few passages from my novel Blood and Loss  http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0082ZQF8Q/ref=cm_sw_r_fa_dp_ybGWpb0APWJK9
After reading them I dare you not to crave more.

He stood over me looking down. “Are you naked under there?” He asked as he took his index finger and pulled back the quilt a little to see if he was right. Apparently everyone was getting a free show today.

His eyes took in my naked upper half while he licked his lips. He was hungry and I was a tasty morsel. My heart tried to pound its way out of my chest. I wanted him to kiss me and he did. The kiss was hard and angry, his tongue assaulted mine.

“The corset is cinched tight to accentuate the narrow waist, to keep your posture straight, to push out your breasts and most important to make taking a deep breathe impossible. You should always feel a little short of breathe, like you are on the verge of excitement all the time.” No problem there, except I wasn’t on the verge of excited, I was way passed it and I saw no signs of stopping.

I am Back

It has been so frustrating to have limited access to the computer, when I wanted to get the word of my book out. My laptop power cord went. It only left me with the dinosaur the kids use in the basement. It is slow and doesn't have any of the pictures or software I need. Well I survived and now I am eager to get back in the swing of things. I am going to start posting some short passages to my book here to give everyone a taste. In the near future, once I have enough followers I am going to have a contest with some interesting prizes. I will be  putting my thinking cap on to come up with something fun.

I'd Love to Hear from You

Cassandra and all those in her life she cares about are waiting for you to buy Blood and Loss and get to know them. My book is full of loss, romance, impossible choices, violence and some very hot scenes that will make you glad you picked it up.

The biggest disappointment is now I have no choice and I have to wait for the next installment to find out what happens next. I think Electa Graham has a lot more to offer and I am looking forward to where she takes her characters and what more we can learn about them.

This is a small snippet that came from a review from one of my readers. I hope you decide to read my book and leave your own review. Please contact me anytime with your thoughts and questions. I'd love to hear from you.

Excited

Excited is the word. I am available on amazon. I am over the moon excited. The process was relatively painless. Writing and editing the book was a different story and I am still nervous about the mistakes they may be in the book. Now the even harder part comes and that is promoting it. I am doing my best, but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
Cassandra's tale isn't finished by a long shot and I am working on book two right now. Please contact me with any comments or questions. This process is new to me, but above all I want the reader to love her as much as I do.

The Book is being Published

I have downloaded my novel to kindle direct publishing. It should be available in the next day or so. I am beyond excited. A mother's day gift to me. I have a rough draft of the next two books already, so no rest for the wicked. Please if you enjoy Blood and Loss take the time to give it a review. I can't wait to hear from everyone.
